Vaccination Requirements

For the health and safety of our guests, all dogs must have up-to-date vaccination records. These vaccines should be administered at least 10 days prior to arrival under the guidance of a licensed veterinarian.

All male dogs over 7 months must be neutered. Intact males over 7 months are not able to participate in group play activities.

Females over 6 months must be spayed to participate in group play. We can evaluate on a case by case basis if over 6 months for boarding but dogs in season are not able to be accepted at our facility. If a dog goes into heat while boarding the owner will be required to make arrangements to pick up the dog that day.

VACCINATION REQUIREMENTS

Proof that the following vaccines have been administered is required for all guests:
DHLPP: One or three year vaccine accepted
Bordetella: Required every six months. Please note, many veterinarians administer this vaccine by request only.
Rabies: One or three year vaccine as required by state law. (currently AL state law requires Rabies vaccine be administered to all dogs 12 weeks and older)

Feel free to call your vet and ask them to fax your dogs’ vaccination history to us at (205) 588-7103.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT VACCINES

  • All dogs 6 months and older must have current Bordetella, DHLPP and Rabies vaccines.
  • All dogs between 3-6 months must have completed 3 rounds of puppy shots no less than 10 days prior to reservation.
  • No dogs less than 12 weeks will be accepted.
  • Dogs less than 1 year old and dogs with compromised or weak immune systems are typically more vulnerable to common canine illnesses. Caution should be exercised when deciding on whether to allow your dog to participate in group play activities and dog park membership.

PARASITES

We realize that sometimes our guests have unwanted guests of their own. To prevent sharing of these unwanted parasites, canine guests with signs of fleas and/or ticks will be treated with a cleansing bath and/or Capstar at the owner’s expense.
