A Thanksgiving feast is a tradition in many households. Don’t forget Fluffy and Fido when you are planning your holiday meals. Use your holiday leftovers to make tasty dog treats. Simple for you and delicious for your dog.

Sweet Potato Squares
These soft chewy treats are great for dogs that are on a limited ingredient diet. Check the ingredients carefully on the package of muffin mix to be sure that these ingredients do not conflict with your dog’s diet.
Ingredients:

Nonstick vegetable oil cooking spray

1 to 1 ½ cups of cooked sweet potatoes (do not use canned yams that contain sugar)

½ cup unsweetened applesauce

2 eggs

7oz package of muffin mix (I use oatmeal) or biscuit mix

Directions

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Spray a baking pan with cooking spray.

In a food processor or mixer, thoroughly blend sweet potatoes, applesauce, eggs and muffin mix.

Spread mixture evenly over the bottom of a baking pan.

Bake at 375 degrees for about 10 minutes.

Cool and cut into small squares with a knife or pizza wheel. Treats will be soft. If you prefer crunchier treats, scatter cut pieces on a cookie sheet leaving space between each piece. Bake at 200 degrees for about an hour.

Turkey & Rice Mini Frittatas
My dogs love these mini frittatas. I like using them for teaching dogs how to do the weave poles. The size and weight are perfect for tossing ahead of the dogs.

Ingredients

Nonstick vegetable oil cooking spray

8 large eggs

½ cup chicken broth

1 cup chopped turkey

1 cup cooked rice

Add up to ½ cup of finely chopped vegetables and cheese if desired

Directions

Preheat oven to 375 degrees

Spray 2 mini muffin tins (24 cups each) with nonstick spray.

Whisk eggs and broth in a large bowl

Stir in turkey, rice, vegetables, and cheese

Spoon mixture into muffin cups so that mixture is almost to the top

Bake 8 to 10 minutes until the egg mixture puffs and is set in the center
